Cheshire Novel Prize Agent Showcase

The Cheshire Novel Prize Showcase is back for 2024…

We thought it was a shame to waste all of the talent from our entrants not to mention those manuscripts on our dashboard unread by agents other than our judges. And so the Cheshire Novel Prize Showcase was born. This is for all of of our long-listed, shortlisted writers an out top 100 writers.

How does the showcase work?

Once we have decided who our winner and most highly commended are on 1st August 2023, we will keep the long long listed, long listed and short listed writers work on our dashboard. Long long listed writers are the top 100 of entries including the long list; all our longlisted books go on the showcase too. If you are successful at reaching the long long list, we will email you and inform you after the long list has been announced. We will then open up our dashboard to literary agents and publishers from 30th September 2024 until 30th October 2024. This will give agents and publishers an opportunity to see if any of our entrants' manuscripts appeal to them. We have a wide range of genres, and each genre is clearly marked on the dashboard which still remains anonymous. We don’t charge the agents for this, nor do we charge the writers; this is included in your entry fee. To ensure that all agents/publishers have a fair and equal chance of reading the manuscripts, we select agents across a wide range of genres, limit the numbers we invite, and stagger the links.

Please note that we cannot accept edits to your CNP entry for the showcase. If you are successful and your work is included in the showcase, we will submit your original competition entry to the dashboard.

If an agent requests your full manuscript from the dashboard:

  1. We will introduce you via email to the requesting agent and then leave you to it. This is because our dashboard remains anonymous.

  2. If you are offered representation, please do let us know and tag us in to social media posts.

We are very excited about the Cheshire Novel Prize Showcase and remain committed to helping you along your publishing journey. However, if you do not wish to be part of the showcase once contacted by us you can opt out. At no point do we publish the showcase dashboard to anyone other than literary agents and/or our judges.

Good luck!

The CNP Team
